bought a used q30 to replace a bounty hunter quick draw pro for saltwater detecting decided to update firmware it crashed and lost program tried everything tried my tablet and phone contacted quest they sent me links to two different firmware they did not work then i remembered reading someones post about using an older android phone for loading the firmware found an old samsung s8 in a junk drawer downloaded firmware on it and uploaded to the q30 and voila it worked whoever it was thanks for the tip moral of the story always keep an old phone around for emergencies
