Beach Detecting Tip: Stability Finds More Than Sensitivity

Many beginners believe that turning sensitivity to the maximum will help them find deeper targets on the beach. In dry sand, that may sometimes work. But once you move into wet salt sand, black sand, or the surf line, the rules change. Saltwater is conductive, and mineralized sand can create constant background noise. When the detector becomes too “chatty,” real targets can disappear inside the noise.

That is why stability matters more than raw sensitivity in beach detecting.
