Back in March, I had to move out of my apartment in Fishtown on pretty short notice. My lease was ending, my landlord decided to sell the building, and I had about three weeks to figure everything out. I thought I could just wing it with a U-Haul and a couple of friends, but the reality hit hard once I started actually packing. I forgot how much stuff I'd crammed into that tiny place. Plus, my couch wouldn’t even fit through the front door the same way it came in—don’t ask me how that happened. I ended up scrambling to find a moving company last minute and let’s just say, not all of them are what they promise online. Some didn’t pick up, some quoted me double the price once I mentioned stairs. It was a mess until I finally found one that didn’t treat me like a nuisance.
