Where are QUEST metal detectors made?
QUEST metal detectors are made in China. International orders may ship directly from the factory; factory-direct delivery is commonly quoted at 7–15 business days, subject to destination, carrier and customs processing.
Can I use a search coil from another QUEST series?
No. Search coils and detector electronics are matched by platform. Do not mix coils between the Q, X, S and V series, or assume a coil fits another model. Use only a coil explicitly listed for your exact model or series. Some individual models have their own compatible options, but that never makes them cross-series compatible; ask Support before ordering a replacement.
How deep can I take my detector underwater?
Waterproof depth depends on the exact model. For example, Scuba Tector II is rated to 60 m; Q35, S30, S50, V80 HyperQ and XPointer Max are rated to 5 m; and XPointer II is rated to 3 m. Check your model page or manual rather than applying one rating to every QUEST product.
Why is my speaker quiet underwater?
Reduced volume or a silent speaker underwater can be normal on waterproof QUEST detectors and pinpointers. Water pressure reduces sound output, so vibration feedback is the main underwater signal where available. If the unit leaks or stops working at its rated depth, submit a Support Request.
Does my model support firmware updates or the QuestGo app?
It depends on the model. Q35, X10, X10 Pro, XPointer Pro and XPointer Max do not support firmware updates. Q30, Q30+ and Q20 are discontinued, and their QuestGo app is no longer maintained or available for new downloads. Check your exact model before following update instructions.
What is the QUEST warranty?
QUEST products have a 2-year warranty. Whether a particular repair is covered is confirmed by Support using the serial number, purchase date and purchase channel; please do not rely on a general answer for an individual claim.
Where can I find my serial number?
On Q-series detectors, the serial-number label is on the back of the control box and starts with QC. For other product families, submit a Support Request with your model if you cannot locate the label.
