Waist-deep in a river tributary, small coin worth the wet clothes

PLACEHOLDER STORY. Followed a slow side-channel off the main river rather than the fast water — anything heavy enough to sink tends to end up behind the sandbars.
Waist-deep, headphones just above the waterline, one clean signal once I stood still long enough for the silt to clear.
Small and simple, but pulling something out of moving water always feels different than digging a plug on land.

Sandbars are exactly where I would have looked too. Good read on the water.
