Low frequency favors larger and deeper targets, but small shallow targets may look weaker.
Multi-frequency detection is like looking underground with several kinds of light at once. Low frequencies tend to favor larger, deeper targets. High frequencies tend to favor smaller, shallower targets. Using several together gives the detector more clues and a more balanced response.
